Has anyone had an artificial disc back surgery?

I have a protruding disc in my back at L5/S1 and instead of doing a cage surgery the artificial disc is an alternative. Anyone have any knowledge or has had the surgery s I know what to expect as far as recovery and success rate for the surgery. Thanks
